MacVenns is a Logic game that uses Venn Diagrams to demonstrate "Set Theory" in a fun way. It is both - challenging and educational - for all ages.
Requirements:
MacOS computer, of course (I don't do Windoze, nor understand why anybody does<g>).
System 7 or later (haven't tested ealier systems lately, but should run with 6.07 on up).
Monitor with at least 16 colors and miminum size of 640x400
( ColorClassic's monitor size is not supported by MacVenns 2.0 or later, sorry. )
Features:
Easy to learn the few basic concepts, then the fun begins.
Inline instructions and explanation of Venn Diagrams and how to operate MacVenns .
Prints instructions, examples, and Venn Diagrams worksheet.
Click to paint / unpaint diagram segments.
Problems are generated randomly, no memorizing the answers<g>.
Correct solution displayed for incorrect answers.
Show or hide your desktop with selectable color.
Pick the paint color for segment shading.
* 16 levels with 16 problems each (all 256 possible combinations of a 3 circle Venn).
* Voice announcement of level changes.
* Music, sound effects, and vocal encouragement.
* I've removed all music and sounds from the demo version, because it makes a MUCH smaller/faster download, and... well, because as anybody that writes shareware will tell you, "people won't pay for the cow, if they can get the milk for free". The complete, registered version is much more enjoyable and available for a small fee (click "About" on the main screen for ordering info).
Instructions and examples are included in the application. To access them, click the "Help" button on the main screen.
Colorful screens, music, and sound f/x make MacVenns an enjoyable way to learn "set theory" while stimulating interest in mathematics and logic. Venn Diagrams are part of the curriculum in many, if not all, educational environments. They are useful in learning to manipulate logical concepts in your mind. The concepts shown in MacVenns were directly used to write this software. Especially if you're interested in learning computer programming, you should spend some time working with Venn Diagrams. They're fun, especially when you do 'em as easily as with MacVenns!
Have fun, place nice :-)
